ALMOST Walking!

She's taking those first few steps on her own...

New parents are always supposed to be excited and scared at the same time - and while she's our third child, it's like she's our first - we ARE excited...and scared.

A lot is happening in our lives right now as we gear up for next week's BIG event. Pam is busy in the training/education program for the children of new missionaries. I have been traveling solid the past two and half weeks - visiting universities to share the vision for Youth In Mission and spending time with college-age missionary kids.

Before Annikah's surgery next Monday, Oct. 2nd, we will be traveling south to shop for a house to move into for our new missionary assignment - this is a big matter of prayer for us, so we'd appreciate you joining us in prayer! Joel's mom has taken a few weeks off from their involvement with coordinating the Nazarene Disaster Response efforts in the state of Mississippi to help out and will be staying with Allie and Nic while we go look for a house (Annikah will go with us).

On Oct. 1st, we will bring Annikah before the Lord during the 8:30AM worship service at Central Church , once more for annointing - so if you're in the Kansas City area, we'd love to have your support!

Well, as she begins taking steps; saying new "words;" trying new things - we realize again that we must daily place her life in the hands of God. His Word reminds us of his love for her and the fact that He has a plan for her life.

Thank you for your prayers!

I just finished reading through "Annikah's Journey". For some reason my computer allowed me to access this site today!

Know that we are praying for you and your family as you go through the many changes that are coming to pass.

While we don't always get a chance to chat on Sundays, know you are in our thoughts often! Don't hesitate to give us a call if you need anything!

In Him,
Rodney and Chris

Hi Joel and Fam!

Hey I hope to see you around at NNU, Joel. I'm around Nampa for a bit so I'll try to make it to the YIM thing.

I just read the blog updates on Annikah. It sounds like you are experiencing some hard times. It doesn't sound easy, but I am encouraged by your faith and openness in sharing your journey. Thank you for keeping us updated, and allowing others to help you along during this time.

I miss you and your fam! Say hi to them for me.

Brendan

I just read everything an this blog for the first time and am just sitting here with tears running down my face. As I think about Anthony, I realize what an incredible thing you are facing. It is a huge trial, and yet a beautiful opportunity for God to demonstrate His sufficiency and love! Mama went forward and was annointed for Annikah at the Nazarene church last night. I love you and we are all praying for you and for Annikah.

Pam & Joel----As I'm remembering the birth of my own precious angel baby Brennan 12 years ago today, I'm also remembering your precious little Annikah. She & Brennan not only share family ties, but also the same head abnormality. Although Brennan is no longer with us here on earth, I know he's watching over Annikah from Heaven and praying a simple, full-of-faith prayer that only children can pray; and God listens with special ears to those simple, child-like prayers and holds them dear to His heart.

I know that you've been blessed with Annikah for a reason and that God has placed your family in the right place at the right time. God Bless and strengthen you both as you go through this time with Annikah, and remember the promise of Jer. 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you; plans not to harm you, but to strengthen and prosper you; plans to give you a hope & a future."

Love you lots! Jan
